Two decades of milestones,

starting with Mr. Paul Dubrule, Accor co-founder

Discover the story of the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule, founded by Mr. Paul Dubrule, Accor co-founder. Take a look at the different moments that have shaped our school below.

2025 - Destination Eco-Talents Center inauguration:

In November 2025, EHT Paul Dubrule became host to the Destination Éco-Talents (DET) Center, an initiative created by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). Located on our campus, the center serves as a hub for eco-tourism education, insertion, decent employment, community engagement, and the promotion of responsible tourism practices in Siem Reap. It brings together a network of local, sustainability-focused businesses and organizations, offering visitors a space to learn about and connect with eco-tourism initiatives across the region. This center reflects our growing role in supporting sustainable tourism beyond the school itself.

2024 - Integration into the UNESCO-UNEVOC network:

EHT Paul Dubrule joined the UNESCO-UNEVOC network, the United Nations’ global platform connecting institutions dedicated to technical and vocational education and training. Being part of this community means access to a worldwide network of TVET institutions and experts, opportunities to exchange practices, and a role in shaping international conversations around vocational education policy. For the school, this integration marks another step toward strengthening its place within the broader TVET community.

2023 - FEE Green Flag Certification:

In November 2023, EHT Paul Dubrule became the 1st educational institution in Asia and 1st TVET school in the world to receive the Green Flag certification. The award recognizes a successful Eco Campus Program, reflecting the school's commitment to sustainability across its daily operations and student life. The Green Flag certification must be renewed every two years, which pushed EHT Paul Dubrule to keep building on its environmental initiatives rather than treat the achievement as a finish line. The certification was successfully renewed in December 2025, confirming the program's lasting impact.

2017 - Launch of the Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management supported by EHL:

The program was designed to help graduates and industry professionals move into supervisory and management-level roles within the hospitality sector, covering key areas such as management, finance, marketing, human resources and entrepreneurship. As a hospitality training school, we take pride in offering graduates a genuine pathway toward leadership positions across the hospitality and tourism industry through the ASEAN Level 5-recognized diploma.

2016 - Integration into the ASSET H&C network:

EHT Paul Dubrule joined the Association of Southeast Asian Social Enterprises for Training in Hospitality & Catering, a regional network of vocational training centers across Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. Members share a common social mission: teaching trades that help vulnerable youth successfully integrate into society. Through the network, EHT Paul Dubrule connects with other schools to exchange expertise, strengthen training quality, and contribute to a shared vision of sustainable tourism and hospitality education.

2015 - Partnership signed with EHL Hospitality Business School:

Since 2015, EHT Paul Dubrule and EHL Hospitality Business School have built a partnership grounded in shared values of excellence, generosity, and professional achievement. This collaboration includes internship opportunities for EHL students, shared equipment and resources, and ongoing strategic guidance from EHL experts. This two-way exchange has helped strengthen our academic standing while giving students direct access to expertise from one of the world's most respected hospitality schools, and it continues to evolve today.

2002 - School inauguration by Mr. Paul Dubrule:

After his first trip to Cambodia in 1998, Mr. Paul Dubrule, co-founder of Accor, was deeply impressed by the country and moved by its vulnerable situation. As mayor of Fontainebleau in France, his first step was to promote the twinning of his town with Siem Reap. With a strong hospitality background and his determination and commitment, Mr. Dubrule created l’École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule, as a personal initiative. A great cycling enthusiast, at 68 years old he embarked on a pedaling journey of 15,272 kilometers from Fontainebleau to Siem Reap in February 2002. Eight months later, he arrived in Siem Reap for the grand opening of the school on October 24th, 2002. The school was founded as a project of Formation et Progrès-Cambodge, an NGO in Siem Reap, and has trained thousands of young Cambodians ever since.
